Tshililo Michael Masutha
Tshililo Michael Masutha is the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services of the Republic of South Africa from 26 May 2014. He is a Member of Parliament for the African National Congress since 1999. He is a member of Disabled People of SA (DPSA). He serves as a Chairperson for the Committee on Auditor-General.
He did a BJuris at the University of Limpopo (then the University of the North) from 1985 to 1988, and obtained an LlB from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1989.
Mr Masutha is a member of the Northern Transvaal Association for the Blind (affiliate of DPSA).
He was an organiser of the Disabled Students at University of the North. Mr Masutha served on the following Parliamentary Committees: Justice and Constitutional Development; Social Development; Rules Committee; Constitutional Review; Sub-committee on Review of Rules; Rules Sub-committee on Delegated Legislation and Committee on Constitutional Review.
He was born with a visual impairment, and went to the Siloe School for the Blind, matriculating in 1984. He uses Braille and large print for reading.
Mr Masutha served as the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of the Republic of South Africa from 09 July 2013 until 25 May 2014.
