Wedadu Sayibu

Wedadu Sayibu has over ten years of experience in development work with a focus on women’s empowerment and child protection. Wedadu is currently the executive director of the Women Support and Activists Group (WOSAG), where she is responsible for supervising and leading program design and implementation to advance the sexual and reproductive health rights of rural women and girls, improving their livelihoods. Wedadu also works with the Regional Advisory Information and Network System (RAINS) as a program lead on child protection and women’s empowerment. In addition, she is a social entrepreneur in agribusiness. She holds master’s degrees in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in the Netherlands and the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. She focused on human rights, gender, and conflict studies through a social justice lens. Wedadu is passionate about improving the welfare of women and children, particularly girls. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship,Wedadu Sayibu plans to continue her work on gender equality and women’s empowerment and to design a mentorship program for young girls.
