Yebeltal Getachew

Yebeltal Getachew (YG) is the Customer & Commercial Leadership Director for West Africa Business Unit.
Since joining the company in the year 2000 as the Marketing Manager for Horn of Africa, Yebeltal Getachew has held several positions of increasing responsibility.

In 2003, YG was appointed Operations Marketing Rep. for Ethiopia and Djibouti and as Country Lead for Mauritius in 2007. While in Mauritius, YG won the prestigious annual Central East and West Africa Business Unit (CEWABU) Values Champion Award.

YG took up the role of Executive Assistant to the Business Unit President for CEWA BU, until 2011 when he was appointed as the Senior Commercial Manager for the Business Unit. In this role, he was credited for developing and rolling out best-in-class frameworks and training modules for initiatives such as Right Execution Daily (RED) and Third party Distributor Operation Standard Assessment (DOSA).

In 2013, YG was appointed as Country Manager for Tanzania and subsequently as the Regional Franchise Manager for Ethiopia, Eritrea, Uganda and Mozambique, a position he held until 2016 when he assumed his current role.

YG is currently pursuing an MBA from Edinburgh Business School – Herriot Watt University Scotland.
