Yusupha Keita

Yusupha Keita has four years experience in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) development with special emphasis on capacity building, business development services, and MSME financing. Currently, Yusupha is the Training Manager of the Empretec program in the Republic of The Gambia, which is a flagship program of United Nation Center for Development (UNCTAD). Here, he coordinates all the five fundamentals of the programs: entrepreneurship training workshops, business development services, the business linkage program, the business championship program, and advocacy.Yusupha is a graduate of International Finance from the American Graduate School of Business in Switzerland where he majored Finance. Yusupha’s desire for a private sector-led economy through entrepreneurship development is the motivation for his work in MSME development. Yusupha Keita has a strong conviction that it will yield the long-awaited sustainable economic development for the Republic of The Gambia, reduce poverty among youth and women, and make Gambia a new development model for Africa. After the completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Yusupha wants to continue his work in building vibrant entrepreneurship credit unions and champion 20 businesses to become millionaires in the Republic of The Gambia by June 2018.
